Archiving vs. deleting a project

When to archive and when to delete (deleting cannot be undone).

If you are clearing out a project, you almost always want to archive it rather than delete it.

Archive (reversible)

Archiving keeps the project in your library under the Archived tab, makes it read-only, and removes it from your Dashboard, Master Calendar, and Daily Digest emails. You can unarchive at any time to make it active and editable again. Archive anything you might want to revisit later.

Delete (permanent)

Deleting a calendar cannot be undone. Only delete a project when you are certain you will never need it again.

Rule of thumb

If there is any chance you will need it later, archive instead of delete.

How to do each

  • Archive: set the status chip to Archived, or right-click the card and choose Archive.

  • Unarchive: right-click the archived project and choose Unarchive.

  • Delete: open the project's menu and choose Delete. You will be asked to confirm.
